I followed this link to find another mural by Rafael Escamilla, who did "Trains Shaping History." It's at one of those tiny parks that offer access to the deep and mysterious Los Angeles River, also known as the flood control channel. Books could be written about both the Red Cars and the L.A. Atwater Village is the next neighborhood to the west from mine. I stopped there to investigate bright colors on a wall, and found this ( mural. )

Sometimes a new store, mall, housing development or other sign of progress appears and I can't for the life of me remember what was there before.
